Eisenhower and music by the New York Philharmonic conducted by its music director Leonard Bernstein the Juilliard Chorus and Metropolitan Opera Stars Risë Stevens and Leonard Wood And now Mr. Burns ladies and gentlemen with this playing of Aaron Copland’s fanfare For the common man We have duly assured in the first stage of a remarkable project the culmination of three years of planning to give New York and the whole American nation a great center of the performing arts The like of which the world has never seen Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to announce the arrival at Lincoln Center of the President of the United States.
