So this is one of the most exciting days in the life of the medical school. The culmination of four years of hard work on the student’s behalf. Years of preparation before that. We are so proud of them. It’s a little surreal, haha. It’s a milestone. To finally be able to make a difference in a patient’s life. And today marks that day. They are amazing, they are pioneers. Graduates, today is your day. It is such an honor, to be standing up here today. Let us never forget our roots as members of the UCR inaugural class. And let us never lose that part of us, that fiercely cares about patients. Especially those less fortunate. By virtue of the authority vested in me, by the Regents of the University of California I confer upon you the degree of Doctor of Medicine. Congratulations to you, the class of 2017! I feel like I was out on clouds. I now see that it was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. All these years it took him to get here and we are so happy and elated that he made it. It’s a great feeling today. It doesn’t ever get old right now, to say, “Hey Doctor!” Congratulations guys we did it! Good luck in residency in the next chapter of our lives. UCR School of Medicine! Yeah!
